Lemonaded Ice Rink
I had a mixed day today. It was mostly good, but the start of it wasn't so hot. I had an 8 o'clock class and I slept through it. *clears throat* Yes, I couldn't get to sleep during the night and the last time I looked at the clock was 4:53 A.M. Yes, A.M. *sighs* I just kept tossing and turning. It was really hot in my room and I was too tired to get the fan going. I went to bed at a decent hour, really. *looks innocent* Anyway, I looked at my alarm when I did wake up and my alarm was set correctly. I have no clue if I didn't hear it, or turned it off. I don't even remember waking up to hit the off button. Oh well. I did make it to my next class and this is when things started to turn around.
I was in Steve Heriot's section of Media Exploration and we talked about the design elements and principles. *falls over* I'm soooooo sick of hearing about them. Anyway, we were looking at a book with stock photography and he was asking us what we saw in them. I saw unity and I blurted out, "Unity." He looked at me and then looked at the picture. He said, "Wow, I never noticed that before. See, she has been in class for 10 minutes and she has taught me something. I'm the teacher and she taught me something." *ego inflates immensely* He smiled at me and was very happy about what I said. I smiled back, thinking, "Of course, everyone learns something from their world leader." Ah yes, how big my ego has gotten. *evil grin* The world better watch out now! Kush is on the loose! *giggles*
On to dinner time. Yes, this is where the lemonaded ice rink comes in. Megan and I went out to eat tonight at the Ground Round. The waitress asked what we would like to drink. Megan ordered an ice water and I ordered a lemonade. Mmm, lemonade. I hadn't had that in a long time and I was really excited for it to come. Plus it is not fizzy. *sticks out tongue* Ew, fizzies! Anyway, the waitress brought our drinks and we happily took them and started to drink them. Megan made a face at me and said that her water tasted salty. I looked at her funny. "Like ocean water," I asked. I sipped her water and I told her that my lemonade tasted like her water, only with lemon flavor. I described the water as tasting like an ice rink. As you might imagine, she looked at me and said, "And you know how an ice rink tastes?" I explained to her that the hockey arena at home has a certain smell to it and her water tasted like the smell at the Memorial Building. *giggles* I told her that I have lemonaded ice rink. That description made her want to try my drink. Yes, it did taste like that and we laughed about it. We had fun with those descriptions of our beverages. We ate dinner and did not leave a tip. The waitress was really stupid and unfriendly and did not deserve a tip from the Diplomat of Switzerland and the World Leader. That was all I really did today.
Oh yeah, I played D&D online with Luke, Kate, and Phil played a little bit too. Unfortunately, Yahoo was being a pain as usual and Phil decided not to play because yahoo kept giving him problems. *gnaws on Yahoo and spits it out in disgust* Well, it is late and I need to go to bed now.
Oh, before I go to bed. For those of you wondering if I called the teacher of the class that I missed, the answer is yes. It sounds as if I didn't miss anything in there and she didn't seemed too concerned. They talked about cover letters for resumes and I already have one of those. She told me to e-mail it to her and I will do so once I fix it up. I'm kind of glad I missed that lab. It sounded really boring. Plus, I know about cover letters and stuff. *grins* Well, I'm really going off to bed now. *sleeps*
